Labor Representative Paul Marks
Paul Marks has lived all of his life in Los Angeles. He graduated from James Monroe High School in the San Fernando Valley and from Claremont McKenna College, cum laude, with a BA degree in political science.
Upon graduation from college, Paul joined the Los Angeles Police Department. In his 22 years with the department, Paul worked as a patrol officer and had assignments in detectives, narcotics, and vice. His career culminated with his promotion to the rank of captain. During the course of his career, Paul gained considerable expertise in labor relations and administrative law.
In 2001, Paul was asked to become a labor representative for the Engineers and Architects Association. As a real estate agent, Paul became extremely active in the community and became a member of the Chatsworth/Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce, the LAPD Devonshire PALS Board of Directors, the Our Community School Board of Directors, the Board of Directors of the United Chambers of Commerce of the San Fernando Valley, and the Board of Directors of the Southland Regional Association of Realtors.
Paul has now returned to the Engineers and Architects Association as a labor representative. He has two grown daughters and three grandchildren. He enjoys reading, movies, and photography.
