Sr. Labor Representative/Stewards Coordinator Marleen Fonseca
Ms. Marleen Fonseca attended the University of California, Riverside where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Environmental Science.
Ms. Fonseca then began working for the City of Los Angeles in 2001 when she was assigned to the Los Angeles Police Department Personnel Division as a Management Assistant. In 2005, she was be promoted to Management Analyst II and served as the Adjutant to the Commanding Officer until 2011.
During her time serving the City, she gained extensive expertise in all personnel related matters. For 11 years, Ms. Fonseca was assigned as a Worker’s Compensation and FMLA Coordinator, tasked with managing the Return to Work Program, ADA compliance, light duty accommodations, compliance with safety regulations, and more. For the latter six years, she has assisted with grievances; conducted and completed personnel investigations; interpreted and ensured compliance with MOUs and city policies; established procedures and directives; and responded accordingly to union related matters.
Her City contacts, knowledge of procedures and policies, as well as her genuine concern for the betterment of every City employee make her an invaluable asset to EAA and have earned her the respect of her peers.
