In Memory of Gregory J. West

(2012 – 2016)

A visionary and champion for organized labor, Gregory J. West joined Engineers and Architects Association (EAA) in 2012 after his successful tenures as a Compliance Officer for IBEW Local 11, Delinquency, Collections Supervisor for California Field Ironworkers Trust Fund, and Law Clerk at Weinberg, Roger and Rosenfeld. Greg’s passion for helping working families through labor management/conflict resolution and negotiations started while a debate student at California State University, Fullerton and later transcended in his participation in Labor Law Moot Court at Hofstra University School of Law where he completed his Juris Doctorate degree.

As EAA Executive Director, Greg brought his passion for helping working families and community service to expand EAA’s reach from virtually every city department to every community within the City of Los Angeles. Being that service functioned as a center point of Greg’s leadership, numerous community partnerships were established in almost every city council district. The acronym EAA began to resonate in households across the city. The New EAA era ushered in by Greg involved member power and involvement in worthy community outreach programs such as: Los Angeles Metropolitan Debate League, Proyecto Pastoral at Dolores Mission, Valley Outreach Mission, 9th District Jazz Festival and so many others. Liked by EAA members, Staff and Council Members alike, there is no doubt EAA experienced historic wins and growth during his tenure.

To his friends and family Greg was known to be a Wine Connoisseur, Cheese Enthusiast, Executive Chef and wonderful Father to three beautiful children Saoirse (age 12), Finnegan (age (8), Connemara (age 6). All who knew Greg will sorely miss him. Greg’s legacy will forever live in the hearts of EAA members.
