17th Annual Victory For Victims Recap

This Saturday will mark three weeks since the Center for Assault Treatment Services (CATS) hosted its 17th annual Victory for Victims Walk/Run. It would be the third consecutive year the Engineers & Architects Association has been a co-sponsor. The proceeds from which directly benefitted CATS, which is the only 24/7 program in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys providing forensic medical evidentiary and interviews for victims of domestic and sexual violence and child sexual abuse.

As has been customary over the years, EAA Outreach not only functioned as a benefactor to this noble cause but also as an active participant. Of the thousand or so registered runners in the 5k/10k, EAA put out its largest team yet of sixteen members to represent the EAA blue.

Two of our members even managed to place themselves in the winners’ circle. On the women’s, Agebaye Scianni finished the 10k with a time of 51:59.30 seconds, which earned her third place in her age group and 40th overall. As for the 5k, Marleen Fonseca finished second in her age group and 65th overall with a time of 29:06.00. The Victory For Victims race results can be viewed in their entirety HERE.

As a co-sponsor, EAA Outreach also took full advantage of the opportunity to host a booth, meeting and greeting residents of the surrounding San Fernando community, which happens to be Councilwoman Nury Martinez turf (CD6).
