The previous Board of Governors routinely touted “Transparency” as their hallmark.

Once assuming office your new Board of Governors called for a Internal audit of 2011/2012 Board actions and expenditures and below are some things EAA MEMBERS DID NOT KNOW:

EAA Brothers and Sisters,

We remind you that completed ballots for this Ratification Election must be received by the morning of Thursday, May 3, 2012. Please take time to review your ballot packet and VOTE. Let your voice be heard in this very important election.

Also, BEWARE: there is a loud, but isolated, voice “campaigning” to convince you to reject this Tentative Agreement (TA) and most importantly to divide us (EAA Members).

Let’s STAY FOCUSED and leave aside what the motivation of this loud, but isolated voice may be; let’s remain steadfast on the gamble you are urged to take.

This loud isolated voice is urging you to reject this Tentative Agreement. Before you even consider rejecting this Tentative Agreement, ask yourself the following:

Will you get a better “deal” through Impasse? [And make no mistake; rejection of this TA will lead directly to Impasse.]

What further sacrifices will be imposed on you while you wait for the Impasse procedure to play out? FYI: The City’s cost-savings target from EAA members for FY 2012/2013 is $23 million.

Do you truly believe that the City won’t seek to extract that savings from you while Impasse proceeds?

This is why we recommend a YES VOTE to avoid the worst outcomes and to lock in some genuine gains which are only available NOW.

Aggregate 4% COLA

Elimination of the retiree health subsidy freeze

Improvements for nearly two dozen class titles across the four MOU’s

Security of being back under contract [with no re-opener clause ] through to 07/01/13.

Don’t gamble away these gains. Vote YES!!!

We have been informed that the EERC approved a Tentative Agreement with EAA for our successor MOU’s at its April 10th meeting. Board President Melissa Popovic, Board Secretary Karen Rodriguez, and Interim ED Michael Davies had addressed the EERC earlier, at that same meeting. Final detailed MOU language is being refined at this time in preparation for the ratification ballot packets. The American Arbitration Association (AAA) will mail out ballots to all voluntary dues-payers on April 18th, and ballots will be counted the morning of May 3rd. Beginning April 16th, and continuing each work day through May 1st, your Board of Governors will conduct membership meetings at mid-day (11:30 AM start time, typically) at a different venue each day to present the Tentative Agreement. Detailed summaries will be distributed at the meetings; as always, the exact proposed MOU language will be included in your ratification ballot packet. The schedule of the membership meetings will be posted on the EAA calendar by this Friday afternoon.
