At its July 17th meeting, your Board of Governors adopted two significant “good governance” measures. For the first time, a Conflicts of Interest policy for the Board is now in place. This policy is an essential safeguard to ensure that the EAA Board operates for the benefit of EAA members and not for personal gain. The Board also refined and expanded the Code of Conduct (first adopted in 1974) to apply to all Union officers, Governors and Unit Council members. This Code of Conduct sets a high standard for Union officers, and enables sanctions when any Union officer fails to adhere to those standards.
